Background Information

Michelle AliDinar brings over 15 years of television experience to Comcast viewers with national and international reporting. Michelle has recently returned to her native Detroit after spending 3 years working as a television producer and host in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Prior to working abroad, Michelle produced and hosted a long-running television program in Los Angeles, which informed viewers how to obtain goods and services for free or at very low costs. Michelle is pleased to have a show on Comcast that makes a positive impact on people’s lives.

Michelle is the Executive Producer and News Anchor of “Empowerment News”. Michelle created this program nearly two years ago, after witnessing how many people in Detroit were unaware of the programs available to help them resolve crisis issues. Michelle sits on the board of directors of a nonprofit organization that offers shelter and legal assistance to women and children of domestic violence, and is active in many volunteer projects in the community.

Detroit has the highest foreclosure rates, the highest insurance rates, and one of the highest high school drop-out rates in the country. The residents of Detroit are in great need of information and resources to help those in need overcome these challenges. Michelle's objective and mission is to empower viewers financially, educationally and socially. We welcome any nonprofit, foundation, corporation or other organizations that offer assistance to the community to be a guest on our program.

Sharif AliDinar is a news anchor on “Empowerment News” reporting on news and information affecting youth and education. Sharif began hosting television in the fourth grade with an educational cartoon program called “Cartoon Times”. The program taught complex mathematical problems in the form of fun filled cartoons. Sharif is native to Los Angeles, and has spent two years studying abroad in Seville, Spain. Sharif’s mission is to impart the necessity of education. He also encourages all students to consider studying abroad.

Currently, Sharif is an honor student who is very active on the campuses of the Wayne County Community College District. Sharif served as Vice President of the Student Government Association for 2006-2007, previously elected Treasurer of the Student Government Association in 2005-2006, and editor of the “Campus Newsletter”. He is currently attending Wayne State University full time on scholarship and he continues to serve as the Public Relations Officer in Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society.

Sharif's mission on Empowerment News is to provide information to youths regarding scholarships and events that help young people become self-sufficient as well as active in our community.
